New Knowledge Hoarder content adventures - unsubscribe while you still can!

Hey all,

As the recent pattern has established itself: It's been a while! But here we are, knee-deep into 2025, and we have almost made it through the incredible first halves of the 2020s.

On a fun note, I was commanded to share more again! I've been cheap recently, keeping all the good insight and experience nuggets for myself, like the little Gollum. I figured, before I disappeared into the dark caves below the Misty Mountains, I better get to what I've always enjoyed: Delivering value in writing, drawing and speaking to my fellow devs.

And while this post won't be a value bomb, it will give you an overview of my current doings and give you a chance to unsubscribe while you still can, before you get hooked, as you did from this last Netflix show that you couldn't stop watching.

I thought I was locked in enough at this point with my current set of projects to tell a more coherent story to myself and others. All projects are intertwined with each other as nicely as ever and can fall under the old and new umbrella of:

"Rails Apps and APIs"

I'll be going into more detail about each one of the projects over time, but here is a list of the big (some clearly too big) visions in the order of amount of hours and effort spent on each one so far:

🔌 API and Integrations Consulting

Consulting at ClickFunnels to build the Business operating system API that helps builders get started and scale their businesses.

It's been an amazing journey so far and we are hammering out cool stuff all the time (we are also hiring top-notch intense devs if you are interested).

👨đŸģ‍đŸĢ Helping Developreneurs Build

Helping 100 developreneurs and indie hackers get their first users by building their Rails apps marketing-first with RichStoneIO (you are here).

It's a 3-month program. The shitty first draft of the program currently lives here (and will move away to a proper funnel soon). I have 4 people interested in being the first Guinea Pigs to take the program for free, but it's a mid-long sales cycle, so the kickstart is still in the baking. And it will be grand once we are there. đŸĨ§

Warm leads not jumping on the free offer too quickly already taught me a great deal about objections that need to be addressed when selling this type of program: "I don't have enough time", "Rails is not for me", "I'm not sure I can commit our both time for 3 months"... Tweaking for this will be a fun ride.

🕹ī¸ Building an Open Sauce SaaS

Build an open-source home games win and points tracking Rails SaaS, making marketing part of the system and delegating user and subscription management to a BusinessOS API (https://github.com/RichStone/socialgames.cc).

I'm kind of overdelivering here because the main goal of this app is to showcase the technical bits. Still, I talked about the idea with 10+ people and had a few Reddit threads about that topic to gauge the app's direction, so we can give this whole thing a real user using it and marketing-first vibe. Multipurposing here at its best.

📜 Rails OpenAPI Schema Generation Gem

Improving the Bullet Train OpenAPI schema auto-generation with the final goal of bringing OpenAPI schema auto-generation to Rails (bullet_train-api).

The idea is to share my processes and learnings as well as those of my mentors, mentees and collaborators. We'll start with monthly learning reflections here in the newsletter and more regular shares of smaller bits on X. But most of all, I look forward to cross-creator collabs where we geek out with other builders on problems and solutions from the Rails Apps and APIs space.

Happy to exchange knowledge on any of these! Also offering some small monetary or mentoring budgets on some of the coding projects if you know anyone who could be interested in building any of that. 🏆
